THE PROJECT

A NAVIGATION EXPERIENCE IN PERFECT SCANDINAVIAN STYLE

Viking Sea, delivered in 2016 at the Ancona shipyard, is the second in a series of six cruise ships commissioned by the shipping company Viking Ocean Cruises from Fincantieri. This unit falls within the small-sized vessel market segment and can accommodate 930 passengers on board, with a total capacity of over 1,400 people, including the crew.

DESIGN CARE, FUNCTIONALITY FOCUS, AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPECT

Highly experienced naval architects and engineers designed the ship, including a team of interior designers from Smc Design in London and Rottet Studio in Los Angeles. The goal was to bring a modern Scandinavian-inspired design to the Viking Sea, characterized by sophisticated yet functional elegance.

In addition to the cabins, each with a private balcony, the vessel also features spacious suites with expansive views, two swimming pools, one of which is an infinity pool located at the stern of the ship, as well as a wellness area designed according to the wellness philosophy typical of Nordic countries, with a sauna and snow cave.

According to the latest navigation regulations, this vessel features state-of-the-art safety systems, including the ‘Safe return to port’ feature. It is also outfitted with advanced energy-saving technologies to meet stringent environmental standards, thanks to highly efficient hybrid engines and an exhaust gas cleaning system.
