THE PROJECT

The LSS ship is a fleet support unit with additional hospital and medical capabilities, thanks to a fully equipped hospital. This hospital includes surgical rooms, radiology and analysis facilities, a dental office, and a ward area for up to 12 seriously ill patients. The ship can transport liquid loads (diesel, aviation fuel, fresh water) and solid loads (spare parts, provisions, and ammunition) that can be transferred to other naval units. It can also perform repair and maintenance operations at sea for other ships. Defense systems are limited to tactical command and control capabilities, communications, and non-lethal deterrent defense systems. The unit can also accommodate more complex defense systems, becoming a platform for intelligence and electronic warfare systems.
